Application Tips
Amex has a “once per lifetime” bonus rule on most personal cards — you generally can’t earn the welcome bonus on the same card twice, ever. This makes timing your application important: apply when the public or targeted offer is genuinely elevated, not just whenever you happen to think of it. American Express “Family Language” dictates that if you hold or have held a higher-tier or equivalent card, you may be ineligible to earn the welcome bonus on a lower-tier card within that same family. This prevents “bonus farming” and makes application order critical (Green → Gold → Platinum).
